Chief Executive Officer

Hili Ventures Limited is seeking to recruit a Chief Executive Officer to oversee its shipping and engineering holdings, which it is in the process of grouping together under one holding company. These comprise entities such as Carmelo Caruana Company (shipping & logistics) and Motherwell Bridge Industries (engineering) in Malta, Techniplus (engineering) in Morocco, STS Marine Solutions (ship-to-ship transfer of oil & gas worldwide) and Cobalt (container leasing) based in the UK, as well as Allcom (logistics and freight forwarding) in Poland.

Based in Malta and reporting to the board of directors, the Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic business plan for the holding company and its subsidiaries that promotes growth in shareholder value. The Chief Executive Officer will work closely with the leadership teams of the subsidiaries of the holding company as well as their operating boards, making important decisions that impact the company’s financial health and brand identity.

The successful candidate will manage the organisational structure and the effective integration of the existing engineering, shipping and logistics operations, assess and minimise risks as well as oversee the financial performance of the Company and the successful management of the business.

The Chief Executive Officer will lead growth organically and through acquisition, supporting the leadership of the subsidiaries in winning business in the various fields of operation and solidifying and increasing their companies’ presence in the countries where they operate.

THE REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will have experience in a relevant field such as shipping, engineering and/or logistics, and be able to demonstrate good entrepreneurial skills and a ‘can do’ approach. Excellent communication and leadership skills, are vital for this role.
