Data Protection Officer

Job Description

1923 Investments plc is seeking to recruit a Data Protection Officer to assume responsibility for advising the company on privacy-related matters, raising awareness and driving the company's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance program. The Data Protection Officer shall also be responsible for providing support to other Malta-based subsidiaries of 1923 Investments plc.

Reporting to the non-executive Chairman and the Board of Directors, the Data Protection Officer will identify any gaps for better compliance with GDPR, oversee the implementation and upgrading of information-handling processes, and train key personnel on the procedures which must be adhered to and review new acquisitions for compliance requirements.

THE REQUIREMENTS

The preferred candidate will have a university degree in Law or IT and at least two years’ experience in a similar role. The successful candidate will be in possession of excellent time management and communication skills and will be able to interact with employees at all levels, clients and authorities. IAPP qualifications and familiarity with OneTrust will be considered an asset.
