Based in Malta and reporting to the Director of IT, the IT Support Officer will be responsible for providing technical assistance, troubleshooting, and support to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the business’ IT systems and infrastructure within the restaurants’ environment. The role involves responding to user inquiries, diagnosing and resolving technical issues, and maintaining IT equipment and software. The selected candidate will also be assisting the IT Department in any IT related projects that may arise from time to time.
Respond promptly to user inquiries via phone, email, or in-person and provide technical assistance and support on hardware,software, and network-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Diagnose and resolve hardware issues pertaining to point-of-sale (POS) systems, self-order kiosks, kitchen display systems, and other restaurant-specific technology.
Install, configure, and maintain restaurant-specific software applications and updates, including menu updates and promotional content.
Collaborate with the IT team to implement system upgrades, patches, and improvements specific to McDonald's restaurant technology.
Support and troubleshoot network connectivity issues, both wired and wireless, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity for restaurant operations.
Assist in the management of IT inventory, including tracking hardware and software licenses, and ensuring adequate stock and accurate records of equipment in the restaurant.
Provide training and guidance to restaurant staff on basic IT procedures and system usage.
Ensure compliance with McDonald's IT security policies and procedures.
Set up and maintain user accounts, permissions, and security settings.
Provide support for audiovisual equipment, conference room technology, and multimedia systems.
Maintain accurate records of IT support requests, resolutions, and assist in creating and updating IT-related documentation, user guides, and manuals (specific to McDonald's systems).
Stay updated with emerging technologies and trends in IT to recommend improvements and optimizations.

Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proven experience as an IT Support Officer or similar role.
Strong knowledge of hardware, software, networking, and operating systems.
Strong troubleshooting skills and a solid understanding of hardware, software, and networking principles.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Customer-focused attitude with a dedication to delivering exceptional support in a fast-paced environment
A valid driving licence and is ready to work out of office hours.
